“Let’s Talk About It”
Group for Teenagers

“Let’s Talk About It” is a new therapy group for teens. The group provides an environment for young people to address the many important issues they face every day. In this group, young people will learn to express themselves naturally with their peers, as well as receive support for making choices in all aspects of their lives. The environment is a confidential one, offering new and growthful ways to create choices.

The group is for both boys and girls, ranging in age from 12 to 17 years old, and based on their experience in middle school or high school. Exceptions may be made based on initial consultation to ensure a good fit for each young person and family. The group runs in twelve-week cycles.

Some of the topics of the group are (and is not limited to):

•   Learning to be more confident and outgoing
•   Enhancing creativity and developing talents
•   Exploring friendship possibilities and pitfalls
•   Dealing with emotional pain and loneliness
•   Supporting family life and family issues
•   Exploring school as a growth process
•   Developing relationships
•   “Being who I am and becoming who I want to be”
